Electric convertibles remain a niche segment, blending open-air driving with silent electric propulsion. Expect a focus on driving pleasure over practicality: two-seat layouts, sub-4-second 0–60 times, and a heavier curb weight than combustion equivalents due to battery mass. Range is usually 200–260 miles, and roof mechanisms take space that would otherwise hold battery or cargo. Consider whether the top can be lowered at speed (many modern designs allow it up to 30 mph) and whether the powertrain includes a heat pump — top-down driving in cool weather draws heavily on cabin heating.
